carp? carp? carp??

did any fish get moved from the lido? did they net it.

hi only 2 pike was takin out when they electro fished it

only 2 pike? any idea how big they were? (hope it wasnt the big un!)

yeap thats it they were both about 3 4 pound

so what was the point of only taking two? So was anything else actually done when they drained it down or was it a pointless exercise. The club has a decent lake which could become a very good carp only lake and it seems they don't have an idea of what they are doing with it. The ideas that they were going to drain it down remove all the pike put more carp in there did this actually happen, from what has been said so far i would say no. Just wondering what other people think.

yeah it was abit but its all out the way now
the tree has come out of the water between the trees and smitheys
i wouldnt make it a carp only lake all its needs is just a few younger carp
to start with you will NEVER remove all the pike out of the lake we are better off having pike matches
and it hasnt bin restocked yet
but at the mo we are having a new fence re done so something better is being done with the money

so then it was a pointless exercise that cost money and for what to take two pike out, Surely the money spent on that could have been used more wisely. The people who make these decisions need to thionk about what they are doing before taking action to make sure it's the best thing for the club.

the pike removed were about 3 to 4 lbs

nothing has been said that the membership fee will be increasing at the committee meetings..

if you have any worries come to the AGM this thursday at the Railway Tavern Pub in Fishponds and you will get a better understanding of whats going

neither myself or jon boy have fished the lido yet this year although i may fish this weekend, i will keep you updated on catches ect..

the lido hasnt been properly fished for a few months, so the carp are going to be gagging for some boilies ..

the lido is fishing hard at the moment (as normal lol)

i fished last night and caught one carp about 12lbs..

there was 4 of us fishing and i was the only one to catch..

the water is quite coloured at the moment, which is unusual as it is usually gin clear..

it should start to pick up in the next couple of months but dont have high hopes as it is a difficult fishery, the remaining carp are mostly old and wise warriors..

i mean that since i joined about 7 years ago the lido was a completely different lake

There was far more trees overhanging into the lake, their were definatly more carp in the lake

since ive been a member i know of atleast 15-20 dieing (some of which were decent fish)

and i cant say too much on here but i have a funny feeling that we've had a few carp stolen aswell...

there was a fish known as Taffy which was caught regularly (the easiest 20lbs carp caught in the lido) which hasnt died because its not floating on the surface, but hasnt been caught in about 4 seasons now...

soo u come to your own conclusions..

and the lake hasnt been restocked in god knows how many years lol..

on friday it was myself & jon boy & nick & mark 3 of us are baliffs so we all know the water like the back of are hands, which says alot when only 1 fish is caught...
